ArmInfo. The Minister of Economy of Armenia Gevorg Papoyan met with the Minister of Agriculture and Environment of Georgia, David Songulashvili, in Rome within the framework of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) conference in Rome.

ArmInfo. Despite the support provided by the state for business development, the SME sector in  Armenia is not growing and has the same share in GDP for several years, as stated in an interview with an ArmInfo correspondent by Artashes Shaboyan, Senior Research Consultant at the Ameria consulting company, referring to the results of a study conducted for the second national report GEM Armenia National Report 2024/2025, prepared within the framework of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor  (GEM) by Aslanyan.

ArmInfo.The Luys Foundation has analyzed the socio-economic development of the RA economy in  January-May 2025.  According to the analysis, during the reporting period, the growth rate of economic activity in the RA accelerated mainly due to the base effect.

ArmInfo.One of the problems in the business sector in Armenia continues to be the fact that the majority of the country's businesses (65-70%) are engaged in extractive activities or consumer services (mainly retail trade).

ArmInfo. Over the past 3 days, 69 trucks with cognac have departed from the Georgian customs checkpoint Gezi and are now en route to the Upper Lars checkpoint, as reported by  Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan.  In a post on social  media, Papoyan mentioned that efforts are being made with the Georgian side to expedite  the passage of Armenian heavy trucks. 

ArmInfo. On June 27, the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, received the  head of the World Bank  Country office in Armenia, Caroline Geginat, who is concluding her mission in the country. Deputy Minister Lilia Sirakanyan was also present at the meeting, according to the press service of the department.

ArmInfo. RA Minister of Economy Gevork Papoyan continues to provide updates on the supply of agricultural products from Armenia to Russia.

ArmInfo. On the Armenian interbank currency market, there has been  a decrease in dollar transactions and a significant increase in ruble transactions. Euro transactions have not been conducted for a month. Specifically, the weekly trend for ruble transactions shifted from a 73.3% decline to a 5.3-fold increase, while dollar transactions went from a 2.3-fold increase to a 41% decline. As a result, ruble transactions are now prevailing over dollar transactions  by 2 times, whereas just a week ago, dollar transactions were ahead of  ruble transactions by 4.3  times.
