ArmInfo.The net profit of Armenia's banking system by the end of 2025 returned to its natural growth rate of 17% (versus 60% in 2024), exceeding 421.3 billion  drams or $1.1 billion. According to the Express Ranking of Armenian  Banks as of December 31, 2025, prepared by the ArmInfo information  agency, the virtually double-digit growth in net profit has once  again been supported by consistently active lending, rather than by  temporary short-term factors, as was the case in 2022-2023 during the  surge in foreign exchange and card transactions of relocators.

ArmInfo. The Armenian interbank foreign exchange market saw a significant shift in trading dynamics  during the week of January 19 to 23, 2026. While dollar transactions decreased,  ruble transactions maintained their  growth momentum. No euro transactions were conducted. Specifically, the trend in dollar transactions shifted from a 79% growth to a 65% decline, while the growth of ruble transactions slowed significantly, from 7.8 times to 29%. This resulted in the weekly ruble volume transactions regaining their its 2.2-fold lead over dollar transactions, while the previous week, dollar transactions still  dominated (2-fold).

ArmInfo. Before 2025, when the turnover tax for small businesses was 5%, many companies reached the 120 million AMD ceiling and chose to stop growing.   Businesses often intentionally "marked time," or underreported their  actual turnover to avoid transitioning into a higher tax bracket, as  stated by Aghasi Tavadyan, an economist and Associate Professor at  the Armenian State University of Economics, in an interview with  ArmInfo,  shareing his concerns regarding the economic proposal by  Samvel Karapetyan to exempt small businesses from the tax burden.

Martin Eurnekian have signed the fifth  amendment to the concession agreement for the management of Zvartnots  International Airport in Yerevan. The primary highlight of the  document is a significant extension of the management term. Under the  new terms the concession period is extended by more than 40 years.  The agreement will now remain in effect until December 31, 2067.
