ArmInfo.In 2024, the financial authorities of Armenia successfully managed to maintain and even  reduce the public debt to GDP ratio, strengthen fiscal sustainability and ensure a stable level of revenue. Simultaneously, a decrease in the tax-to-GDP ratio was recorded, as stated by the head of the RA Ministry of Finance, Vahe Hovhannisyan, on June 13 at a meeting of the parliamentary standing committee  on financial, credit and budgetary affairs,  while presenting a report on the execution of the 2024 state budget.

Armenia to receive EUR 236 million loan from ADB for construction of   northern section of Sisian- Kajaran road

ArmInfo.Armenia will receive a EUR 236 million loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) under the  Sustainable and Inclusive Road Sector Improvement Project for the construction of the 27.12 km northern section of the Sisian-Kajaran road. The relevant loan agreement received a positive conclusion from the parliamentary committee on financial and credit issues on June 13 and was included in the agenda of the NA plenary session.

On June 16, ArmSwissbank starts public placement of two dram bonds,  each worth 7 billion drams

ArmInfo.  ArmSwissbank plans to carry out the initial public placement of the next two issues of dram registered coupon bonds in the amount of 7 billion drams on June 16. This is noted in the Bank's statement, which indicates that the initial placement is planned to be completed by September 30 of this  year. A total of 140,000 bonds will be issued within both dram  tranches, each with a par value of 50,000 drams.

Armenia`s banking sector to tighten capital buffers

ArmInfo. In the banking sector of Armenia, the regulator continues to tighten the standards for capital buffer indicators. Thus, from May 1, 2025, the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia increased the countercyclical capital buffer (CCB) from 1.5% to 1.75% of risk- weighted assets, as well as the capital conservation buffer (protective) from 2% to 2.5%. It is known  that an additional capital buffer of 1.5% is already in effect for  systemically important banks. This is noted in the annual report of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia "Financial Stability 2024".
