ArmInfo. The Main Department for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Smuggling of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia continues the investigation of the criminal case initiated against the owners of a number of gas  stations V.K. and N.G., as well as a group of individuals for  non-payment of taxes on an especially large scale.

ArmInfo.  Dollar transactions resumed on the Armenian interbank foreign exchange market from April 28 to  May 2, 2025 (after a week long absence), while ruble transactions continued to decline. Euro transactions have not been carried out for nearly two months. The downward weekly trend of ruble transactions slowed from 55% to 22.2%. As a result, the total weekly volume of dollar transactions began to exceed ruble transactions by 2 times. In parallel with this, in the intra-bank foreign exchange market for the reporting week (28.04-02.05.25 compared to 21-25.04.25) the purchase  of dollars continued to decline, while sales saw an increase. In euro transactions purchases began to grow while sales growth slowed down, and in ruble transactions   purchases and sales were in decline.  As a result, from  April 28 to  May 2 , 2025, the dram slightly weakened against the dollar - from AMD 389.3 to AMD 389.5/$1, while remaining stable against the euro at AMD 441 /1 EUR, and  the ruble at AMD 4.64 /1RUB. 

ArmInfo. The issuance of $750 million in Eurobonds by Armenia  in March 2025 with an interest rate of 7.1%  indicates that foreign investors perceive the risk associated with the RA to be quite high.

ArmInfo.Such an end was predictable, according to Tigran Jrbashyan, the head of America Management  Advisory. He was referring to the Ministry of Economy of Armenia's announcement that the < Highly Qualified Specialists Engagement Program > has been frozen, and the department is currently reviewing  the amounts paid under this program in recent years.

ArmInfo. Entrepreneurs from Lyon are interested in investing in the real sector of Armenia, as well as in establishing mutually beneficial cooperation. ArmInfo. For  the first 3 months of 2025, Armenia  has spent almost 50 billion drams more than it did for the same period last year. This  information is detailed in the RA Ministry of Finance's bulletin on the execution of the state budget for January-March of this year.  According to the information, during the reporting period, the revenues of the state budget of the Republic of Armenia amounted to 597.4 billion drams, ensuring 102.1%  execution of the indicator projected by the revised program for the first quarter. Compared to the same period last year, the revenues of the state budget increased by 13.8% or about 72.4 billion drams.

ArmInfo.  The Ministry of Finance of Armenia has introduced a new draft law , which includes a provision that loans issued under government guarantees will not be considered as part of the government debt. Vahe  Hovhannisyan, the head of the department, made this announcement during a press conference in response to a question from Arminfo.   to reflect globally recognized definitions,> he noted.  

ArmInfo.  By the end of 2025, Armenia is projected to  reach the budgeted GDP growth rate of 5.1%. The launch of the Amulsar gold mine this year may also have a positive impact on this key indicator. Armenian Finance Minister Vahe  Hovhannisyan made this statement during a press conference, in response to a question  from ArmInfo about the feasibility of the financial authorities' economic growth predictions given the downward revisions in global economic growth forecasts.

ArmInfo.  Armenia and Sweden have reached an agreement on expanding innovative, technological and investment cooperation, as well as long-term mutually beneficial cooperation. This was reported by the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, citing the results of the visit of Deputy Minister Ruben Simonyan to Sweden to participate in the Business Seminar on Armenia event.

ArmInfo.  Yerevan to host forum . As reported by the press service of the Tourism Committee, the forum is being held within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Health at the initiative of the Tourism Committee.

ArmInfo. Gross international reserves (GIR) of Armenia increased by 19% per annum or $408.1 million by April 2025 (against a decline of 13.3% a year ago), reaching $3.926 billion, approaching a record $4.220 billion in August 2023. In the first quarter of this year alone, GIR increased by 7% or $242 million (against a decline of 8.3% in the first quarter of 2024), and in monthly terms, growth has been observed since February, with an acceleration in pace to a double-digit 16.5% (or $555 million) in March. This is evidenced by the data of the Central Bank of Armenia.

ArmInfo.Under the main sponsorship of AraratBank, on May 5 at 7:30 PM, an unprecedented concert by the "Artsakh" Chamber Orchestra will take place at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall, featuring internationally recognized Armenian musicians. The artistic director and conductor of the orchestra is Narek Hakhnazaryan, and the soloist is world-renowned violinist Sergey Khachatryan.

ArmInfo.Armenia intends to establish an Institute of Agricultural Consultants. This  goal is being pursued by the French Development Agency's IADAAM (Irrigated Agriculture Development in Ararat and Armavir Regions) program, funded by the EU, which was launched in July 2024. This was stated by the program's director Karen Harutyunyan during an event dedicated to the completion of the educational component of the program.

ArmInfo. On April 30, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of RA Prime Minister Nikol  Pashinyan, to discuss the concept of developing the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.
