ArmInfo.   Imports of petroleum products into Armenia in H1 2026 decreased by 34.8% year-on-year (compared to 9.2% growth a year earlier), amounting to 159.1 thousand tons. At the same time, the customs value decreased by 17.6% to $189.8 million. This is evidenced by data from the RA Customs Service.

ArmInfo.  The loss ratio for mandatory motor third-party liability insurance (MTPL) in Armenia decreased to 73.2% in January-August 2026 from 74% over the same period in 2025. This was observed against the backdrop of an acceleration in the annual growth of the number of active policies from 7.8% to 9.6%, insurance premiums from 17.5% to 17.8%, and a more noticeable acceleration in the growth of claims paid from 6.6% to 18.7%.

ArmInfo. The Central Bank of Armenia put into circulation a silver commemorative coin entitled “35th Anniversary of the Republic of Armenia” on September 14, 2026. As noted in the statement by the CBA, the coin, with a face value of 5,000 drams, is made of 925 sterling silver. The sketches were designed by Eduard Kurginyan. The coin was minted at the Lithuanian Mint.

ArmInfo.  On Armenia’s foreign exchange interbank market, dollar transactions declined from September 7 to 11, while ruble transactions increased. Alongside this, no euro transactions were conducted for the second week in a row. In particular, the weekly volume of dollar transactions decreased by 13.3%, while the trend in ruble transactions shifted from a 47% decline to 30.2% growth. This enabled the weekly volume of ruble transactions to retain its lead over dollar transactions, with the gap increasing from 1.4 times to 2.2 times.
