The closure of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will directly benefit Armenia's energy policy, according to political scientist Vahe Davtyan.  "It is obvious that the closure of USAID  will inevitably lead to a decrease in the dynamics of liberalization of Armenia's energy policy. And I believe this is a positive development," the expert noted.

ArmInfo. Armenian banks have started to decrease the rate of lending to the economy, while increasing consumer lending at a faster rate.

ArmInfo.The Eurasian Development Bank will provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Finance of Armenia in implementing a comprehensive program to improve the qualifications of the department's employees. The RA Government approved the implementation of this project at a meeting on March 6.

ArmInfo.The amendments to the Tax Code and the package of related laws proposed in the second reading by Hayk Sargsyan, a member of the National Assembly of  Armenia from the ruling Civil Contract faction, have undergone  radical changes. The previous amendments concerned the application of  an additional 10% turnover tax on the gambling business.

ArmInfo. Economic activity in Armenia has increased by 7.1% in January 2025 compared to January  2024 (down from 10.7% growth the previous year), with growth in all areas except the industrial sector.

ArmInfo.In Armenia, the annual inflation rate in February 2025 reached 2.5% (compared to deflation  of 1.7% the previous year) due to the rise in prices of food products such as vegetables, fruits, butter, meat, chocolate, coffee, tea, fish and seafood.

ArmInfo.The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has published its new investment strategy for Armenia for 2025-2030. The Bank's two main investment priorities  in the country will be to support the development of a more inclusive and competitive private sector, and to accelerate the green economy  transition by promoting sustainable infrastructure. This is stated in the official statement of the Bank.

Armenia wants to regulate tax administration in the areas of leasing and car rental.  At its session on March 5, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia adopted in the first reading the amendments to the Tax Code proposed by the NA deputy from the ruling Civil Contract faction  Babken Tunyan.

ArmInfo. The issue of alienation of property that had public status back in Soviet times will be regulated in Armenia. The country's parliament, at a plenary session on March 5, introduced amendments to the Civil Code in the second and final reading.

The Armenian government proposes to amend the Civil Code of the Republic of Armenia, the laws "On Limited Liability Companies" and "On Joint-Stock Companies" that define the concept of a convertible loan agreement and the main conditions for its application, taking into account business relations established in the world and in the Republic of Armenia.
