ArmInfo.  Armenia will exchange financial information with various countries worldwide. At its April 8 meeting, the Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly  of the Republic of Armenia issued a positive opinion on the draft  amendments to the Multilateral Agreement between Competent  Authorities on the Automatic Exchange of Financial Account  Information, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Armenia  for ratification.

Armenian authorities seek to establish an effective system for protecting consumer interests in the market and an environment necessary for the  development of fair competition and entrepreneurship. At its April 8  meeting, the RA National Assembly Committee on Economic Affairs  approved the amendments to the laws "On Consumer Protection" and "On  Advertising," submitted by the RA government for the second reading.

ArmInfo. Armenia is attempting to legislatively equalize the rights of foreign and local investors. At its April 8 meeting, the National Assembly's Committee on Economic  Affairs issued a positive opinion on the draft law "On Investments"  submitted by the RA government.

ArmInfo.  The Federal Service for Control of Alcohol and Tobacco Markets (Rosalkogoltabakkontrol) conducted an unscheduled inspection of Proshyan Brandy Factory LLC, which imports brandy products.

ArmInfo.During a meeting with the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Armenia, Nilakshi Saha Sinha, Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan discussed the potential for expanding economic cooperation between the countries, taking into account the positive dynamics of trade growth.

ArmInfo.IDBank and Idram conducted a financial literacy course for children living in Vahagni and neighboring villages of the Lori region. The program provided around 60 children and adolescents with in-depth knowledge of the financial sector, savings, and responsible financial behavior.

ArmInfo.Armenia's foreign trade turnover in January-February 2026 increased by 9.3% year-on-year, recovering from a 52% decline in the same period last year.

ArmInfo.Preliminary data from the Statistical Committee of Armenia reveals a positive shift in the national labor market for 2025, with the unemployment rate falling from 13.4% to 12.8%. The total number of unemployed citizens decreased by 4.9%, settling at 172,300 people by the end of the year.

ArmInfo.  The Armenian service sector, a primary engine of the nation's economy, recorded a significant slowdown in the first two months of 2026. According to  the latest data from the Statistical Committee of Armenia, the sector  generated 630.3 billion drams ($1.6 billion) in revenue for  January-February, but its annual growth rate dropped to 7.2%, down  from 12.4% during the same period last year.  

ArmInfo.Regulations on synthetic content will be tightened in Armenia. At an extraordinary session of the  RA National Assembly, amendments to the law "On Audiovisual Media" are being discussed in the first reading.

ArmInfo.  Taxi drivers operating through electronic taxi platforms will become beneficiaries of the compulsory health insurance system starting January 1, 2027.   The decision to amend the law "On Universal Health Insurance" will be  discussed at an extraordinary session of the RA National Assembly  on  April 7.

ArmInfo.  Armenian authorities want to support investors who will invest in the development of greenhouses and the construction of water collection basins for  agricultural purposes. At an extraordinary session of the National  Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on April 7, draft amendments to  the law "On Local Duties and Payments" will be discussed in the first  reading.

ArmInfo.  Armenia recorded a record number of tourists in the first quarter. This was announced by Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan.

ArmInfo. Armenia's trade sector slowed its annual growth rate from 7.8% to 3.3% in January-February 2026, reaching AMD 892.2 billion ($2.4 billion). According to the RA  Statistics Committee, in February alone, trade turnover in Armenia  increased by 14.4% to AMD 477.5 billion ($1.3 billion).

ArmInfo. At the TOON EXPO 2026 exhibition, held from March 27 to 29 at the Meridian Expo Center in Yerevan, the Ardshinbank pavilion welcomed around 500 visitors who received professional consultations. A number of visitors were granted on-the-spot preliminary approvals for mortgage financing, while applications were also submitted during the event.

ArmInfo.  One of the largest international exhibitions in the field of leasing and financial  solutions in Armenia, LEASING EXPO 2026, will be held in Yerevan from  April 10th to 12th.

ArmInfo. After a prolonged decline, cognac and wine production in Armenia has returned to growth. According to the Statistical Committee, in January-February  2026, cognac production increased by 17.3% (from a 45.3% decline a  year ago), reaching a volume of 2.4 million liters.
