ArmInfo.  Armenia plans to allocate 7.5 million drams for the development of the arbitration sector. The decision was made at a government meeting on May 14.

ArmInfo. As part of the fight against tax violations and economic crimes, employees of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia conducted large-scale  investigative operations against individuals engaged in the purchase  and sale of cryptoassets, as well as individuals providing services  using cryptoassets.

ArmInfo.The issue of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supplies from Iran to Armenia has been resolved, and Iranian gas is expected to re-enter the Armenian market in the coming days. ArmInfo. In Armenia, the service sector's annual growth slowed from 11.5% to 7.4%, generating revenue of AMD 981.7  ($2.6 billion) in Q1 2026. According to the RA Statistics Committee, in March alone, service sector revenue increased by 12.6% to 351.4 billion drams ($931.2 million).

ArmInfo.The revenue of Armenia's trade sector in Q1 2026 saw a year-on-year growth slowdown, dropping from 6% to 2.1% and totaling AMD 1.44 trillion ($3.8 billion). According to data from the Statistical Committee of the RA, trade turnover in March alone rose by 14.1%, reaching AMD 550.5  billion ($1.4 billion).

ArmInfo.In Q1 2026, the volume of freight transport in Armenia decreased by 1.6% compared to the same period in 2025 (against 0.7% growth a year earlier),  totaling 3,408.5 thousand tons. According to data from the Statistical Committee of the RA, this downward trend was driven by a 10.7% decline in dominant road freight volumes, which fell to 2,185.9 thousand tons.

ArmInfo. In Q1 2026,  revenue growth in Armenia's communications sector slowed to 4% year-on-year, down from 6% in the same period last year, totaling AMD 42.2 billion,  according to data from the Statistical Committee of  the Republic of Armenia.

ArmInfo.The State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia reports that as of May 11, procedural preparations for the launch of direct trade between  Armenia and Turkey have been finalized. 

ArmInfo.  The largest volume of private transfers to Armenia continues to come from Russia ($945.3 million), while the largest volume goes to the U.S. and UAE (a total  of $342.1 million). At the same time, the influx of transfers from  European countries, especially from the UK, Germany, and France, has  increased significantly (a total of over $92 million, with an annual  growth rate of 35-48%).

ArmInfo. The Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia, Martyn Galstyan, has no doubt that the share of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in GDP will be increased to 40%. He stated this to journalists on the sidelines of the forum "SME Sector: Impact and Development Challenges," commenting on Prime  Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement about the target increase in the share of SMEs in GDP to 40%.

ArmInfo.Over nearly 25 years of operations in Armenia, the German-Armenian Fund (GAF) has attracted over EUR700 million in credit resources from international financial institutions, which have been provided to the country's SME sector through banks and credit companies. Daniel Azatyan, Chairman of the Union of Banks of Armenia (UBA), announced this during the opening of the forum "SME Sector: Impact and Development Challenges," specifying  that approximately 350,000 loans have been issued, with the portfolio growing threefold.
