Armenia`s specific debt burden per capita has already reached $3.2  thousand

ArmInfo.Armenia's specific debt burden per capita continues to grow, reaching $3.2 thousand by April 1, 2022 from $2.9 thousand a year earlier. Moreover, the per capita  debt burden from external debt has not changed much, having only  slightly decreased from $2.3 thousand to $2.2 thousand, and from  domestic debt it has increased from $653 to $916.

Russia, China remain leaders in Armenia`s exports, imports

ArmInfo.This January-March, Russia remained leader in Armenia's foreign trade turnover, its share being $634.2mln - a 40.6% growth against an 8.1% decline last January- March. Russia also remained leader in Armenia's exports and imports,  with respective shares of $186.2 and $448.02. Exports showed a 23.3%  growth against 2% growth, with imports showing a 49.4% growth against  the 12.4% decline last January-March.

Electricity generation increased by 16.7% in Armenia in Q1 2022

ArmInfo. Electricity generation amounted to 2,465.3 million kWh in Armenia in Q1 2022, with an acceleration of y-o-y growth from 1.4% to 16.7%. At the same time,   in March alone a decline of 1% was recorded - to 786.4 million kWh.  This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee.

Service sector and energy complex were major drivers of economic  activity growth in Q1 2022

ArmInfo.In Armenia, economic activity in Q1 2022 increased by 9.6% compared to the same period in 2021 (against a 2% decline in Q1 2020), exceeding even the pre-Covid  6.5% growth in Q1 2019. According to the final data of the RA  Statistical Committee, the agricultural sector lingered in the  decline, while other sectors showed growth, and the service sector  and the energy complex were the main drivers of economic growth.

At the same time, in March alone, the volume of  production decreased by 1.3% - to 187.5 billion drams ($377.4  million). This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical  Committee.

IBRD to grant a 22.6 mln euro loan to Armenia under education program
