Armenian insurance companies generate profits through high tariffs,  earning $7.3 million in the first nine months of 2025

ArmInfo.  Armenia's insurance sector saw a significant increase in  its net profit  in  the first nine months of 2025 compared to the previous year. The  sector's net profit quadrupled, reaching AMD 2.8 billion ($7.3  million), a stark contrast to the 77,5% decline experienced a year  earlier. This growth was the result of tariff increases, leading to  an annual premium growth of 16.6% (amounting to AMD 63.2 billion or  $165.2 million), a substantial improvement from the previous year's  1.5% decline. However, the  annual indemnity growth slowed down from  17.3% to 8.1% (to AMD 35.2 billion or $92 million), according to the  Financial Rating of Armenian Insurance Companies as of September 30,  2025, prepared by ArmInfo Investment Company based on published  financial reports and additional data requested from insurance  companies.

ArmInfo. In the first half of 2025, Armenia reduced its exports of butter and dairy spreads by 11.9% year-on-year to 212.7 tons. Meanwhile, the customs value  increased by 13.7% year-on-year, reaching $1.6 million. This is evidenced by data from the RA Customs Service, according to which the lion's share of these products was shipped to the Russian Federation (65.2%), with  smaller amounts going to Belarus (33%), the United States (1.7%), and Georgia.

Armenia`s potato imports increased in the first half of 2025, with  exports dropping

ArmInfo.  Armenia reduced its potato exports in the first half of 2025 by 10.5%, to  4,600 tons. Meanwhile, the customs value increased by 65.6%, reaching  $2.4 million. According to data from the RA Customs Service, almost  all of the potatoes (99.9%) were shipped to Russia, with only 295 kg  to Ukraine. Armenia increased potato imports by 12.4 times, reaching  6,700 tons, while the customs value increased 7.1 times, reaching  $3.9 million. Potatoes were primarily imported from Georgia (55.1%),  with a  smaller share coming from the Netherlands (15.3%). The  remaining volume came from Germany, Egypt, Denmark, Pakistan, the  United Kingdom, Iran, Turkey, Belgium, and Austria.

Armenia plans to ban  plastic bags and single-use plastics in 2027

Armenia exports 99.9% of its tomatoes to Russia
