On the foreign exchange interbank of Armenia, from August 16 to 20, 2021, the volume of dollar transactions accelerated growth to 45.2%, from 21.7% in the previous week (from August 9 to 13). In parallel with this, acceleration of growth of dollar purchase in the intrabank foreign exchange market during the reporting week was accompanied by a rise in sales, for euro deals the trend reversed from recession to growth, and ruble transactions continued to grow with an accelerating pace. The exchange currency platform has been idle for the fourth year already. |

Armenia intends to increase the share of small and medium- sized businesses (SMEs) in the republic's GDP by 2026 from 27% to 55%, according to the program of the RA government for 2021-2026, approved on August 18 at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. Realizing that SMEs are a key element of sustainable economic and employment growth, the RA government attaches importance to the development of SMEs and undertakes to take consistent steps to remove obstacles along the way.
