ArmInfo. The attempt of the Armenian insurance sector to get out of the loss for profit in Q2 2021 was crowned with success, but the received amount of 94 million drams ($ 189 thousand) was insufficient to zero out the six-month loss. According to the Financial Rating of insurance companies in Armenia, prepared by ArmInfo IC, the total loss of 6 insurance companies for H1 2021 was amounted to 130.6 million drams (over $ 263.4 thousand), with a 2-fold y-o-y drawdown (from plus to minus level), with a quarterly 2.5-fold growth (reaching the plus level).

Decrease in number of tourists by 22.2% registered in Armenia

ArmInfo.In H1 2021, 239,263 tourists visited Armenia, which is 22.2% less than a year ago. According to the data of the RA Statistical Committee, Armenia is the  most attractive for tourists from Russia, whose share in the total  structure was 39.1% or 93,537 tourists.  However, on a y-o-y terms, a  decline of 22.8% was recorded.

Significant growth in imports of electric vehicles is observed in  Armenia

There has been a significant increase in imports of electric cars in Armenia.  According to the press service of the Ministry of Nature Protection,  such an increase is associated with changes in the Tax Code of  Armenia, according to which from July 1, 2019 to January 1, 2022, the  import and sale of vehicles with an electric motor is exempted from  VAT.

Natural population growth declines in Armenia

Armenia considers the possibility of a new emission of Eurobonds  already in 2024
