The Central Bank of Armenia, in its updated forecast for 2021, predicts a state budget deficit at 4.4% of GDP, with a y-o-y decline of 1 percentage point.  According to the Central Bank, despite the high level of the state  budget deficit in 2021, compared to 2020 (when the fiscal policy was  significantly expansive), the impact from income will be expansive by  1 percentage point, and from spending - by 2.3 percentage points. 

ArmInfo.In the post-election period, economic activity in Armenia will intensify even more, which is conditioned by the resolution of the internal political crisis  through the formation of the authorities, which will now have to  implement the announced programs. ArmInfo.The Central Bank of Armenia improved its forecast for GDP growth for 2021 to 4.6% (from 1.4% previously projected), relying on relatively high upward rates  in the industrial and service sectors. This is stated in the Central  Bank's Monetary Policy Program for the II quarter of 2021, published  at the end of June.

ArmInfo.The Central Bank of Armenia improved its forecast for 2021 on foreign trade, expecting an increase in exports by 7-9% and imports by 5-7%, against the  previously forecast modestly rising 1-3% for exports and descending  2-4% for imports.

ArmInfo.The Central Bank of Armenia improved the forecast for the growth of the net inflow of private transfers for 2021 to 15-18% from the previous 7-9%. This  forecast is given in the Central Bank's Monetary Policy Program (MP)  for the II quarter of 2021, published at the end of June, where it  was noted that the forecast for GDP for 2021 was improved to a higher  growth of 4.6% from the previously expected 1.4%.

ArmInfo.According to the new forecast of the Central Bank of Armenia, the unemployment rate in 2021 will decrease to 17.9% (from the actual 18.1% in 2020), which is due to higher rates of productivity growth. And in the medium term,  this indicator will decrease annually by 0.3-0.4 percentage points  and will reach 17.2% by the end of the period.
