Central Bank of Armenia raised refinancing rate from 6% to 6.5%

ArmInfo. At its meeting today, the Board of the Central Bank of Armenia decided to raise the refinancing rate by 0.5 percentage point to 6.5%.  The Lombard repo facility rate at 8.0%. ArmInfo.In Armenia, the number of terminated CMTPL contracts continues to grow rapidly - 3.9 -fold in January-May 2021 compared to the same period a year ago, amounting to 19,500. And almost the same - the volume of returned or refundable  premiums increased by 3 times - up to 236.1 million drams ($ 453.4  thousand). This is evidenced by the data of the Bureau of Motor  Insurers of Armenia, according to which, in the reporting period, the  number of vehicles with MTPL policy decreased by 2.3%.

Armenia`s international reserves increased by 11.3% per annum by June  2021

ArmInfo.Armenia's gross international reserves increased in January- May 2021 by 15% or by $ 393 million, amounting to $ 3.009 billion, as evidenced by the data  of the Central Bank of Armenia. Of these, the lion's share - $ 2.973  billion - falls on foreign assets in hard currency, and the SDR share  in the IMF amounted to $ 35.7 million. According to the regulator's  report, in January-May of this year foreign assets in hard currency  increased by 14.1%, and the share of SDR in the IMF grew 4-fold.
