ArmInfo. Armenia's gross international reserves in January- October 2020 decreased by 18.7% - to $ 2.316 billion. In y-o-y terms (October 2020 versus October  2019), this indicator decreased by 6.2%, and in October alone - by  5.2%. This is evidenced by the data of the Central Bank of Armenia.

IMF reaches staff-level agreement on third review for Armenia`s  Stand-By Arrangement

ArmInfo.An International Monetary Fund (IMF) team led by Nathan Porter conducted discussions on the third review of Armenia's reform program supported by the IMF  Stand-By Arrangement (SBA). According to the IMF's press release,  discussions were held during September 2-November 16, 2020. At the  conclusion of the discussions, Mr. Porter issued the following  statement:

ArmInfo.The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), within the framework of a loan from The Export-Import Bank of China (Eximbank of China), attracted 1.5 billion yuan (about 230 million US dollars) to finance cross-border transactions between the PRC and member countries of the Bank, namely Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan,  Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. The corresponding agreement was  signed on November 16, 2020. The credit line was provided for 5  years. The press service of the bank reports.

Federation Council ratified protocol on amendments to the cooperation  agreement with Armenia

Birth rate growth in Armenia lags behind mortality growth rate

ArmInfo. 26 653 children were born in Armenia in January- September 2020. According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, the birth rate in  the country increased by 0.8% in y-o-y terms, and by 0.4% in a  two-year context. The birth rate per 1000 inhabitants at the end of  the reporting period was 12 ppm, against 11.9% in 2019 and a similar  level (12 ppm) two years earlier.

Negative migration balance of Armenia in January-September 2020  decreased by 53.3% per annum

ArmInfo.  In January-September 2020, 39,496 cases of population migration were  registered in Armenia, which is 17% less than a year ago.  According  to the data of the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia,  12,025 people moved to the country from abroad (with an annual  decline of 33.6%), and 14186 people emigrated abroad (with an annual  decline of 37.6%).

Service sector of Armenia reduced volumes by 11.7% in 9 months of  2020

ArmInfo.  In Armenia, the service sector in January-July 2020 reduced volumes by 11.7% per annum - to 1.2 trillion drams ($ 2.6 billion) against 15.5% growth a  year earlier. According to the data of the Statistical Committee of  the Republic of Armenia, in September alone, the volume of services  provided increased by 4.1%, amounting to 151.9 billion drams ($ 312.1  million).

Hearings on draft 2021 state budget of Armenia kicked off in Armenian  Parliament

ArmInfo. In 2021, the projected growth of the Armenian economy will be 4.8%. On November 17, presenting the draft state budget for 2021 in parliament, RA  Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan stated this.  According to him,  the growth of the economy will be provided due to the growth of  capital expenditures.  219 billion drams will be allocated for these  purposes.

ArmInfo.  The volume of cargo transportation in Armenia in January-September 2020 compared to the same period of the previous year increased by 4.9% - to 10,874.1  thousand tons (against a decline of 52.2%). Of these, 7,055.6  thousand tons (64.8% of the total) fell on road transport, having  increased by 5.2% in y-o-y terms (against a decline of 63.3%). This  is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee.
