Processing  industry in Armenia is sinking

ArmInfo. The volume of industrial production in Armenia in January-July 2020 against the same period of 2019 increased by 1.3% (against 8.4% growth a year  earlier), amounting to 1.1 trillion. drams ($ 2.2 billion). According  to the data of the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia,  the slowdown in growth is due to the subsidence of the manufacturing  industry volumes while the dynamics of the mining industry improves.

ArmInfo.In Armenia, the production of aluminum foil in January-July 2020 compared to the same period in 2019 showed high growth rates - by 13.1% to 20,505 tons, against 3.5% decline a year earlier. This is evidenced by the data of  the RA Statistical Committee.  According to statistics, in July  alone, the production of aluminum foil increased by 4.7%, amounting  to 3,062 tons.

Armenia reduced external debt to Russia for the first half of 2020 by  5.3% - to $ 378 million

Armenia's foreign debt to Russia decreased in the first half of 2020 by 5.3% - to $ 378 million, but the debt increased by 20% on an annualized basis.  In the first half of the year, the external debt to Germany (KfW) was  also reduced by 2% to $ 373 million, to Japan (JICA) - by 0.5% to $  224.3 million, to the United States - by 7% to $ 15.5 million, and  the debt to France, on the contrary, it grew by 8.5% - up to $ 137.9  million. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee.

Armenia replaced Brazilian sugar with Russian one

In the first half of 2020, sugar was imported to Armenia mainly from Russia, while Brazil was traditionally the supplier of sugar to the Armenian  market.  Thus, according to the RA Customs Service, a total of 21.3  thousand tons of sugar were supplied to Armenia during the reporting  period with a y-o-y decline of 35% (against a 10.9% decline a year  earlier).  At the same time, the customs value decreased by 41.1%,  amounting to about $ 7 million.

According to the press service of the company, in order to increase internet connection speed, Beeline modernized the entire 4G network in Yerevan at the city's 29 stations. Previously,  the network had technical capacity of 187MB/s, and now the network  complies with the Gigabit LTE standard and has capacity of 489MB/s.

Armenia has reduced the volume of gold exports without losing customs  value

In the first half of 2020, 2,722.4 kg of gold were exported from Armenia (including electroplating), which is 11.8% less than a year ago, against an  increase of 32.8% in the same period in 2019. At the same time, the  customs value of exported gold increased in the first half of 2020 by  6.9% - to $ 123.9 million, as evidenced by the data of the RA Customs  Service.

ArmInfo. On September 4, a  corporate Eurobond trade was executed on AMX's corporate bonds  platform for the first time in the history of Armenian exchange  market (the value of trade - US 600,000). As the AMX press service  told ArmInfo, Ardshinbank CJSC's Eurobonds (XS2080321198), issued in  foreign capital market by "Dilijan Finance B.V.", are listed on  Armenia Securities Exchange.  USD 300 mln Eurobonds were issued with  a 5-year maturity period and 6.5% annual coupon rate, with the  minimum lot size of USD 200000.

Reactor annealing unit delivered to Armenian NPP

ArmInfo. An installation for the reduction annealing (heat treatment) of the reactor vessel metal was delivered to the Armenian NPP. The plant will be prepared  for the final part of the work on extending the service life, which  will take place in 2021 - the reactor will be annealed, which will  return it to its original state by 80-85%.

ArmInfo.  Imports of oil  products to Armenia in quantitative terms increased in the first half  of 2020 by 53.3% per annum - up to 246.2 thousand tons (against an  increase of 4.1% a year earlier). At the same time, the customs value  increased by 5.8% - to $ 128.4 million, while a year earlier in the  same period a decline of 4.9% was recorded. This is evidenced by the  data of the Armenian Customs Service.

ArmInfo. In the consumer  market of Armenia in January-August 2020, a deflation of 1.2% was  recorded, against a 2.3% deflation in the same period of 2019. This  was triggered by a decline in prices for food products (including  alcohol and cigarettes) by 3.4% and non-food products by 0.6%, while  tariffs for services increased by 1%. According to the Statistical  Committee of the Republic of Armenia, on an annualized basis  (compared to January-August 2019), the consumer market recorded  inflation of 0.8% (against inflation of 1.8% a year ago), which was  facilitated by the rise in prices for food and non-food products by  05% and 0.8%, respectively, and an increase in tariffs for services  by 1.3%. The average monthly decline in prices on the consumer market  amounted to 0.2% in January-August 2020, against 0.3% decline a year  earlier.
