ArmInfo. In the current circumstances due to the coronavirus, banks are ready to act as intermediaries between the government and the population, providing
their support to jointly overcome the difficulties that have arisen.
Thus, banks will help not only to cope with a difficult situation,
but will also further contribute to the development of such sectors
of the economy as SMEs and agriculture. This was stated by Executive
Director of the Union of Banks of Armenia (UBA) Seyran Sargsyan
referring to the work carried out by the system and state programs to
neutralize the economic consequences of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

ArmInfo. Armenia is not in the worst situation compared to other countries in the region in terms of decrease of the credit rating. The Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Avag Avanesyan expressed this opinion during a press conference at the Unified Information Center on April 15, speaking about the impact of the country's rating given by international rating organizations. In this regard, he recalled that Armenia is not the only country in the region, the rating of which, has been downgraded. However, the Deputy Minister emphasized that, in conditions of the general negative assessment, rating organizations praised the actions of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, which, in their opinion, are in tune with the development of the situation, both in terms of speed and goals.

Bank, which will deal with issues related to servicing pensioners.
A similar initiative was introduced at the plenary session of the
Armenian parliament on April 15 by the deputy of the faction Mikayel
Melkumyan, commenting on the amendments to the law "On State
Pensions" submitted by the government.
