Armenia resumes flower export to Russia

Armenia`s sugar imports 41.6% up

ArmInfo.  According to the results of 2024, Armenia increased sugar imports by 41.6% to 97.9 thousand tons. The customs value increased by 36.8%, amounting to $57  million. As in the previous year, the main sugar import markets for  Armenia are Brazil and Russia. This is evidenced by the data of the  RA Customs Service.

ArmInfo. In 2024, Armenia increased its copper ore exports by 20.4% - to 341.5 thousand tons (compared to a 20.4% decline in 2023). The customs value of copper ore also saw a 15.5% increase, totaling $558.3 million, as evidenced  by data from the Customs Service of the Republic of Armenia.

Aluminum foil exports from Armenia decreased by 20% in 2024

ArmInfo.In 2024, Armenia reduced its aluminum foil exports by 20% (compared to a 22.5% decline in 2023), resulting in a supply volume of 20.3 thousand tons.   According to data from the Customs Service of the Republic of  Armenia, the customs value of exported aluminum foil also decreased  by 21.4% to $68.6 million.

Substantial rise in OSAGO tariffs allow Armenian insurance market to  significantly increase profits

In 2024, Armenia reduced its natural gas imports from Russia by 3.1%,  while increasing liquefied gas supplies by 53.5%

ArmInfo. In 2024, Armenia saw a slight increase  in its natural gas imports, rising by 0.1% to 2,728,077.4 cubic meters, with a  0.5%  increase in customs value to  472.3 million. To  According to data from of the RA Customs Service,  traditionally, the majority of  (83.8%) of natural gas was supplied  to Armenia from Russia.  Specifically, during the reported period,  2,288,457 cubic meters of natural gas were imported from the Russian  Federation, showing a  3.1% annual volume decrease and a 2.8% decline  in customs value to $397.8 million. The remaining 439,620 cubic  meters  was supplied from Iran, with an annual growth of 20.5%. At  the same time, the customs value increased by 22.5% to $30.4 million.

Tourisms visiting Armenia set record in May-July 2025

Armenia reduces imports and exports of oil products in 2024

Prime Minister: TRIPP  to establish a railway connection  between  Armenia and  Russia

Construction activities resumed at Amulsar gold mine

In Armenia`s interbank foreign exchange market from August 4-8,  2025, ruble transactions increased significantly while dollar transactions decreased

ArmInfo. In Armenia's interbank foreign exchange  market from August 4 to August 8, 2025, there was a noticeable decrease in ruble transactions amidst a decline in dollar transactions. Euro transactions have not taken place for two and a half months. Particularly, the weekly trend of dollar transactions shifted from a 47% growth to a 21% decline, while ruble transactions, which resumed the previous week, jumped by 86%. This reduced the prevalence of  total weekly  dollar transactions over ruble transactions from 2.5 times to 1.1 times. In parallel with this, in the intra-bank foreign exchange market during the same period (04-08.08.25 compared to 28.07-01.08.25) the growth in purchasing dollars slowed down significantly, while the trend for selling  dollars  increased. The  trend for purchasing-selling euros continued to rise, and in ruble transactions the purchase growth was accompanied by the sales trend going down. As a result, from August 4 to August 8, the dram remained stable against the dollar at  AMD 383.5 /$1, weakened against the euro - AMD 440 to AMD 447/1 EUR, and also weakened against the ruble - AMAD 4.75 to AMD 4.78/1RUB.

Armenia`s diamond exports and imports decreased  after a year and a half of growth

ArmInfo. Armenia experienced a significant increase in the export and import of diamonds from 2023 to mid-2024, followed by a decrease in volumes. Throughout 2024, both  export and import volumes  of diamonds decreased by 6% (compared to growth of 88.2% and 39% in 2023) - to 4201.6 thousand and 3320.2 thousand carats, respectively, as evidenced by  data from the Customs Service of the Republic of Armenia. A similar shift in dynamics was noted for the customs value of exported and imported diamonds: moving from a 41.5-44.2% growth to  an 18-12% decline - to $485.6 million and $500.8 million, respectively.
