Armenia ranks 69th among 190 countries in the World Bank`s "Women,  Business and the Law" 2020 report

ArmInfo.Armenia ranks 69th among 190 countries in the World Bank's "Women, Business and the Law" 2020 report. According to the WB statement on its official page on Facebook, the report looks at the fundamental freedoms of women in  business through data points clustered in 8 indicators: Mobility,  Workplace, Pay, Marriage, Parenthood, Entrepreneurship, Assets, and  Pension. 

Armenia ranks 69th among 190 countries with an overall score of 82.5.  In particular, in Mobility indicator Armenia was awarded 100 points,  Workplace - 50, Pay - 75, Marriage - 100, Parenthood - 60,  Entrepreneurship - 75, Assets - 100 and Pension - 100.

Among the EAEU countries, Armenia registered the highest indicators,  in particular,  Russia's score is 73.1, Belarus - 75.6, Kazakhstan -  72.5 and Kyrgyzstan - 76.9.

Among the countries neighboring Armenia the highest score was gained  by Georgia - 85.6, Turkey - 82.5, followed by Azerbaijan - 78.8 and  Iran - 31.3.

It should be noted that in the framework of the study "Women,  Business, and the Law 2020>, a situation assessment was carried out  in 190 countries and territories. The impact of laws on the status of  women at various stages of their working lives was monitored, the  laws in force in the country's largest business center were in the  spotlight. The study covers reforms in eight areas related to the  economic empowerment of women and carried out from June 2017 to  September 2019.

As noted in a new World Bank study, over the past two years there has  been a noticeable improvement in the regulatory environment governing  women's participation in economic life: 40 countries have implemented  62 reforms that will help women - half the world's population -  realize their potential and contribute to economic growth and   development.
