ArmInfo.Armenian individuals undertake to pay off their land tax debts in case of making land sale transactions. Amendments to the Law on Land Tax were adopted at the plenary meeting of the RA National Assembly on March 6 in the second and final reading.
According to the co-author of the presented document, MP of the National Assembly Argishti Mekhakyan, there are often cases when the buyer of the land only after the transaction is found out about the presence of debts on the land tax and the fines and penalties charged. The MP stressed that the current regulations do not provide for the transfer of outstanding tax liabilities to the new owner. With the adoption of the document, notary authorities and other authorized structures undertake to require the submission of a certificate of payment of debts. According to Mekhakyan, the proposed regulation is already applied in the sale of vehicles. In addition, as a result of the bill adopted by the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, this measure will also be applied to residential premises. -
