Minister: Armenian government takes necessary steps to support  tourism in the coronavirus conditions

ArmInfo.The Armenian government  is taking the necessary steps to support the tourism sector in the  coronavirus conditions. On May 27, Minister of Economy of the  Republic of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan stated this from the rostrum  of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

According to him, as of today, 800 beneficiaries are involved in the  third program of measures to mitigate the consequences of  coronavirus, of which 270 organizations represent the tourism sector  - these are hotel complexes, catering establishments and guides. The  total amount of state support amounted to 2.7 billion drams. As part  of the first program, AMD 800 million was allocated. Despite a short  period of time, the government also managed to provide enterprises of  the field with soft loans in the amount of about 1.5 billion AMD.  Together with the Ministry of Finance and the State Revenue  Committee, a study is underway for new solutions, which will be  announced later. The Minister reiterated that entities with a good  credit history and good taxpayers can use state assistance. At the  same time, Tigran Khachatryan once again rejected the possibility of  applying tax benefits.
