Armenian government to support restaurant business in maintaining  employment

ArmInfo. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan received representatives of the restaurant business on July 31.

According to the press service of the government, during the meeting  the problems of the sector and the possibilities of their solution  were discussed. "Your initiative will become an occasion for meetings  with representatives of all sectors of our economy to understand what  we can do not only to overcome the economic crisis, but also to  improve the competitiveness and efficiency of sectors and our economy  as a whole. I think that even in times of crisis this agenda should  not be forgotten. How proactive we will be during a crisis situation,  how much we will show a long-term policy towards the horizons, the  better," said Prime Minister Pashinyan.

Then representatives of the restaurant business presented their  concerns, problems caused by the coronavirus, and made proposals for  their solution. In particular, representatives of the private sector  expressed satisfaction with the government's anti-crisis economic  measures and benefited from possible assistance to maintain  employment in the restaurant sector. According to them, this will  help the industry get out of the crisis with minimal losses.

Economy Minister Tigran Khachatryan said that this issue has already  been discussed in the government, and now a project is being prepared  to provide state assistance to business in order to maintain  employment. The Minister provided detailed information on the  assistance mechanisms provided by the project.

The Prime Minister instructed to continue discussing the project with  the private sector in the coming week, to amend it taking into  account the proposals of the latter and submit it to the government  for approval. The Prime Minister stressed the need for continuous  development of the service sector, urging business representatives to  come up with initiatives to establish modern restaurants and cafes in  the regions, which is also important for improving the atmosphere in  communities.
