Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia elected Vice President of the EBRD  Board of Governors

ArmInfo. On October 7, a remote plenary meeting of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) was held, at which  decisions were made on the framework of the Strategy and capital for  2021-2025. and EBRD report.  

As reported by the press service of the  RA government, at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister, EBRD Governor  in Armenia Tigran Avinyan was elected Vice-President of the Bank for  2020-201. For the first time since the country's membership in the  Bank, a representative of Armenia was elected as Deputy Chairman of  the Board of Governors.

As a reminder, Yerevan will host the EBRD's annual conference in  2021.

At the annual meeting of the Bank of Armenia presented the Strategy  and Capital Framework for 2021- 2025. Deputy Minister of Economy of  the Republic of Armenia, Vice - Governor of EBRD for Armenia Avag  Avanesyan made a report on cooperation between the republic and the  EBRD.

He also presented the details of Azerbaijan's aggression against  Artsakh with the support of Turkey and involvement in terrorist  aggression, as well as mentioned attacks on civilian populated areas.  It was noted that Azerbaijan's actions had already caused a long-term  serious damage to the economic stability of the region and may lead  to a humanitarian crisis.
