Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan spoke with WB Regional Vice  President

ArmInfo. RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, continuing discussions within the framework of spring online meetings with representatives of the Washington Consensus (International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB)), held a video conversation with WB Regional Vice President Anna Bjerde.

From the Armenian side, the meeting was also attended by the Minister  of Economy Vahan Kerobyan and deputy ministers of a number of  departments.

The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the cooperation with the  World Bank, especially during a difficult epidemic period, and  introduced to the interlocutor steps taken by the government to  address socio- economic problems in the country.

Mher Grigoryan highlighted the co-financing of social assistance  programs from the World Bank, as well as joint work with the World  Bank in the field of health, aimed at meeting the urgent needs  arising from the epidemic.

The WB Regional Vice President expressed the readiness of the World  Bank to provide the Republic of Armenia with constant assistance,  both financial and expert.

The interlocutors also mentioned the topic of holding early elections  to the National Assembly, from the point of view of strengthening  democratic values and stabilizing the internal political situation.   During the meeting, its participants discussed the coronavirus  vaccination process and the policy adopted by the Government within  its framework. Anna Bjerde also informed the Deputy Prime Minister  about the possibilities of WB assistance in purchasing vaccines.
