
ArmInfo.Armenian grocery retail is developing exclusively in the direction of the ideology of "feeding", while manufacturers in many countries of the world have long been offering consumers not a product, but solutions. Anna Beklyarova, co-founder of the Export Armenia Association, Director of the Sales and Development Department of the Gagarin Agro company, presented her observations on the results of the PROD-Expo 2021 exhibition held in Moscow yesterday.
"There is undoubtedly interest in Armenian products, but our understanding of what the market wants and what it offers is very weak. Our retail sets itself the task of feeding the consumer cheap and cheerful, and in this regard, unfortunately, we are far behind producers in other countries. Our manufacturer is in a relaxed state, and thinks only about how to reduce the cost, including through raw materials, and is not accustomed to how to correctly form an offer, how to research the market, how to recognize your potential consumer>, said the expert.
In this context, she stated that Armenian producers are not competitive in the Russian market, where over 80% of our products are exported. According to Beklyarova, this will continue until we learn to systematically and structurally approach the issue. , - the specialist emphasized.
In addition, Beklyarova pointed to the inadequate level of the manufacturers' ability to present their products, despite the fact that they are of good quality. In view of the low business culture, as the expert noted, many Russian distributors, headed by representatives of the Diaspora, lose their desire to cooperate with their compatriots.
"We have no problems with connections, we simply do not have an understanding of how to work in our country, there is simply no business culture," she summed up.
