Electricity generation in Armenia slowed down y-o-y growth rate in Q1

ArmInfo. In the first quarter of 2021 electricity generation in Armenia amounted to 2,112.9 million kWh, with a slowdown in y-o-y growth from 14.8% to 1.4%. But in March  alone, an increase of 16% was recorded - up to 736.1 million kWh.  This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee.

According to statistics, in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the  first quarter of 2020, TPPs reduced electricity generation by 7.9% -  to 844.7 million kWh. At the same time, hydroelectric power plants  increased electricity production by 18% - up to 410.4 million kWh,  Armenian NPP - by 3.7% to 843.9 million kWh.

During the reporting period, 11.3 thousand gigajoules of thermal  energy were produced, with an y-o-y decline of 25.2%.  During the  reporting period, wind farms produced 0.5 million kWh of electricity,  which is 44.4% less than a year ago.  The volume of production of  solar power plants amounted to 13.4 million kWh, which is 3.8 times  more than a year ago.
