In H1 2021, Armenia reduced imports of natural gas by 0.2%, while  liquefied gas increased by 60.6%

ArmInfo. In H1 2021, Armenia slightly reduced imports of natural gas - by 0.2% to  1,327,661 cubic meters. The customs value of imported natural gas  decreased equally (by 0.2%), amounting to $ 219.1 million.

According to the data of the RA Customs Service, natural gas was  imported to Armenia from Russia (86.7%) and Iran (13.3%). In  particular, 1,150,901 cubic meters of natural gas came from Russia (a  y-o-y growth of 9.6%), and the customs value of this volume amounted  to $ 189.9 million (a y-o-y growth of 9.6%). Imports of natural gas  from Iran decreased by 37.1% - to 176,760 cubic meters, with a  similar decline in customs value - to $ 29.2 million.

According to the source, the supply of liquefied gas on a y-o-y terms  increased by 60.6% - up to 34,963.6 tons, with an increase in customs  value by 47.3% - up to $ 11.4 million. Liquefied gas comes to Armenia  from Russia (27.7%), Iran (61.3%) and Iraq (11%).

In particular, imports of liquefied gas from Russia decreased by  47.6% to 9,688.4 tons, with a decline in customs value by 41.1% - to  $ 3.7 million. Imports of liquefied gas from Iran increased 9.9-fold  to 21,445, 3 tons, with an increase in customs value 6.6-fold to $  6.4 million. Imports of liquefied gas from Iraq increased 3.3-fold to  3,829.8 tons, with an increase in customs value 2.6-fold  to $ 1.2  million.

According to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and  Infrastructures of the Republic of Armenia (as of July 1 of this  year), in 2021, within the framework of the new indicative balance,  the republic received 111 thousand tons of motor gasoline, of which  79.7 thousand tons - from the Russian Federation. In addition, it  received 84.6 thousand tons of diesel fuel (of which 71 thousand tons  from the Russian Federation), as well as 18 thousand tons of jet  fuel.
