Armenia and Russia have developed common approaches to attracting  investment

ArmInfo. Armenia and Russia intend to intensify investment cooperation in the industrial sector. At the VIII Interregional Armenian-Russian Forum during the round  table "Potential of industrial clusters: implementation of joint  projects", the parties developed common approaches to attracting  investments. Andrey Shpilenko, Director of the Association for the  Development of Clusters and Technology Parks of Russia, announced  this on the sidelines of the forum.

In particular, he stressed that before making a decision to invest in  a particular project, business always needs to show the mechanisms  that are beneficial to it in the first place. "Such forums are  necessary in order to bring positions closer together, to find  interested entrepreneurs who are ready to invest," he added.

In turn, head of the Industrial Development Department of the  Ministry of Economy of Armenia, Armen Eganyan, said that during the  round table they talked about specific projects, programs, and  available opportunities. <Of course, we can say that the  implementation of the latter is not carried out at the proper level.  Therefore, intensive work is required on this issue>,  he added.  To  recall, the interregional forum between Armenia and Russia has been  held since 2011 with the aim of expanding cooperation between the  territorial units of the two states.  To note,Russia is traditionally  the main trade partner of Armenia. According to the data of the  Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in January-August  of this year, the trade turnover between Armenia and Russia amounted  to $ 1.5 billion, which is 12% higher than a year ago. At the same  time, exports increased by 30.9% to $ 522 million, imports by 4% to $  1 billion.
