23.9% rise in petrol prices in Armenia in first half of 2022 

ArmInfo.In the first half of 2022, the index of consumer prices for petrol rose by 23.9%, with the average index in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) being 9.3%. The  highest rise was recorded in Kyrgyzstan, 46.7%, according to the data  by the Eurasian Economic Commission as of August 1, 2022. 

This June, a 13.3% rise in petrol prices was recorded in Armenia, a  1.6% rise as compared with this May and 2.1% as compared with last  December. 

The index of consumer prices for diesel fuel rose by 44.1% this  January-June as compared with last January-June, with the average  rise in the EAEU being 16.8%. Kyrgyzstan us the only EAEU  member-state that recorded a higher rise than Armenia - 50%.  

This June, the diesel fuel prices showed a 45.4% rise as compared  with last June, a 33.3% rise as copared with last December and 2.2%  as compared with this May. 

The index of consumer prices for utilities was 6% in Armenia in the  first half of this year, with the average index in the EAEU being  5.1%, with the highest index recorded in Belarus, 10.8% 

According to the statistical data, 10.3% year-on-year inflation was  recorded this June (6.5% last June) due to a 16.1% rise in food  prices (including alcohol and cigarettes), a 7.5% rise in nonfood  prices and a 5.3% rise in prices for services. Last June against June  2020, an 8.8%-9.5% rise in food and nonfood prices and a 2.1% rise in  prices for services were recorded. 

In the first half of 2022, 6.3% inflation was recorded in Armenia's  consumer market (3.8% inflation in the first half of last year),  which caused an 8.9% rise in food prices and a 4.6% rise in nonfood  prices, with a 4.4% rise in prices for services. 

In the first half of 2021, a 5.6% rise in food prices, 5% rise in  nonfood prices and a 1% rise in prices for services. In the first  half of 2022, 1% monthly rise in consumer prices was recorded against  a 0.6% in the first half of 2021.
