ArmInfo. The six-month delay in the sale of shares of MTS Armenia CJSC was related to the research  process, since it directly related to the issue of national security.  Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated on December 6 during the government hour in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, answering a question from Arsen Torosyan, a MP Delay in sale of MTS Armenia was related to research, as it was  directly related to issue of national security: Premier from the ruling Civil Contract faction.

In particular, the MP reminded that six months ago, the Public  Services Regulatory Commission issued a negative conclusion regarding  the sale of the company to FEDILCO GROUP LIMITED, registered in  Cyprus. However, six months later a positive conclusion from PSRC  followed. In this regard, Torosyan raised the question of the reasons  for the change in the Commission's position.

Nikol Pashinyan noted that the positive conclusion followed  additional studies of the presented justifications, as a result of  which all doubts were dispelled.

In this regard, the MP noted that the company applying for the shares  of MTS Armenia does not have relevant work experience, which cannot  but cause concern, especially considering that MTS Armenia is the  largest provider of services in the field of cellular communications.

On November 15 PSRC approved the application of MTS Armenia CJSC  (Viva-MTS brand, a subsidiary operator of the Russian MTS PJSC) for  carrying out a transaction for the sale of shares of Fedilco Group  L.t.d., registered in Cyprus. In April, PSRC rejected the same  company's application, citing the fact that it could harm the state  interests and security of Armenia.
