EEC Board decided to liberalize certain categories of precious  metals` import/export

ArmInfo. The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission has made changes to the regulation of  issues of import/export of precious metals and commodities containing precious metals.

"The changes are aimed at liberalizing the import and export of  certain categories of precious metals, simplifying the passage of  state control, optimizing the list of documents provided by  participants in foreign trade activities to government bodies, as  well as applying uniform non-tariff regulation measures to identical  goods," noted the director of the department of customs tariff and  non-tariff regulation of the EEC Vahagn Ghazaryan.

According to him, it is, in particular, about excluding from  regulation those products in which the specific weight of precious  metals does not exceed 2%. Also, taking into account the possibility  of receiving documents in electronic form, it is allowed to submit  copies of documents (export license, specification for goods) instead  of originals for state control.

In addition, the requirements for the availability of a document on  the conditions for processing goods outside the customs territory of  the EAEU are excluded if the purpose of applying the customs  procedure for processing outside the customs territory is the repair  of goods, and a number of other changes are made.

The decision will come into force after 30 calendar days from the  date of its official publication.  Earlier, ArmInfo, with reference  to data from the RA Statistics Committee, reported that in January -  February of this year, jewelry production increased  11.8-fold in  country, the volume of which amounted to 119.1 billion drams.  According to experts, growth in the industry is largely due to the  re-export of jewelry products.
