Pashinyan: Work has begun on developing program to address priority  issues for restoring disaster zone

ArmInfo. Despite the difficulties associated with the consequences of the flood, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was surprised and shocked by the positive energy of the local population.

Speaking at the government hour in the National Assembly of the  Republic of Armenia on June 12, Pashinyan noted that this is largely  due to the operational work carried out on the ground.  Head of the  operational headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of  the disaster,  Minister of Territorial Administration and  Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia Gnel Sanosyan is in the  disaster zone almost around the clock.

Emphasizing the existence of numerous problems, Pashinyan pointed out  the need to make priority decisions in order to know where to start.  The very first decision should be to assist local residents in  restoring their housing conditions. For this, it is very important to  quickly adopt an effective program of measures to repair damaged  housing and provide them with minimum property needs. As the head of  government noted, work is underway now to develop this program.

Pashinyan also emphasized that the government will also provide  assistance to entrepreneurs whose enterprises were hit by the  disaster. Here, the turnover of the previous period of time, the  current state of buildings, equipment and inventory will be taken  into account, which will allow providing businessmen with some  financial assistance.

Citizens' losses of their cars will also be financed.

Due to the emergency situation caused by heavy rains on May 25-26,  which led to floods, the government declared a number of communities  in the Lori and Tavush regions as disaster zones. 300 million drams  have been allocated to the two regions to solve urgent problems. The  disaster damaged roads, bridges and railways. In order to eliminate  the consequences of the elements, a task force has been formed under  the leadership of the RA Minister of Territorial Administration and  Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan.
