Armenia, Sapin condier possible cooperation in high-tech field 

ArmInfo.  Armenia and Spain considered the possibilities of developing bilateral relations in a number of areas of the high-tech industry. This was reported by the  press service of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, citing a meeting  between Deputy Head of the Ministry Gevorg Mantashyan and Ambassador  of the Kingdom of Spain to Armenia (residence Moscow) Ricardo  Martinez Vazquez. 

In particular, they discussed prospects for cooperation in the field  of engineering, space technologies and artificial intelligence. The  parties also touched upon the activities of states aimed at  developing digitalization, telecommunications, space technologies,  engineering education, startup ecosystem, research and development  (R&D), semiconductor design, etc.

Gevorg Mantashyan presented to the Ambassador the activities and  goals of the Ministry, the programs being implemented, the state  policy for the development of the industry, emphasizing in this  context the work carried out in the direction of developing the  industry strategy and legislative norms.

Ricardo Martinez Vazquez, in turn, emphasized the importance of  developing the technology sector for all areas of the economy and  spoke about the achievements of Spain, especially in the field of  space technology and artificial intelligence. -0-

On May 25, 2022, the first Armenian satellite Urdaneta (working name  - ARMSAT_1) was successfully launched from Cape Canaveral into  low-Earth orbit. The launch was organized by the Spanish company  SATLANTIS. On June 6, SATLANTIS announced the conclusion of an  agreement for the supply of a complete Earth observation system to  the Armenian subsidiary of the RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry  "Geocosmos"
