ArmInfo. There should be no business entity in Armenia that can claim that the country's authorities have imposed even one extra dram in taxes or duties to solve fiscal issues. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made this statement during a government session on November 27.
According to the Prime Minister, businessmen often approach him with complaints that the tax and customs authorities, along with the investigative bodies, are extremely demanding. "Our principle is that there should not be a single economic entity in the Republic of Armenia that has objective grounds to claim that the government, has collected even one extra dram in taxes or duties as a result of fiscal processes.
On the other hand, there should not be a single businessman who would pay even one dram less than the legally required tax or duty," he stated. Pashinyan believes this is a very legitimate and fair approach.
He also stated that since businesses are raising such issues, a working discussion on this topic will be held on Saturday. Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan has also been instructed to study these appeals to determine who is right and who is wrong.
It should be noted that recently, representatives of various business circles have been increasingly talking about the "tax terror" on the part of the State Revenue Committee and the Investigative Committee, who are seeking to ensure their targets in this way.
