
ArmInfo. In Russia, retail sales of alcoholic beverages (excluding beer, beer-based drinks, cider, perry, and mead) will decline by 9.3% in 2025 compared to 2024, to 205.8 million decaliters (dal), according to Rosalkogoltobakkontrol.
The largest decline occurred in the low-alcohol beverage market: almost eightfold, to 1.53 million dal.
Retail sales of vodka decreased by 3.6%, to 73.3 million dal, and cognac by 9.2%, to 15 million dal. Meanwhile, sales of liquor increased by 12.7%, to 18.8 million dal. A total of alcoholic beverages (with an alcohol content above 9%, or 9% ABV) were sold, down 1.1% from the previous year.
Wine sales also declined. In 2025, grape wine sales totaled 56 million dal, down 1.9% from the previous year, while sparkling wine (champagne) sales totaled 22.7 million dal (down 3.2%). Sales of liqueur wines fell by 10.7% to 1.15 million dal, while fruit alcoholic beverages fell almost fourfold to 2.5 million dal.
