
ArmInfo. Armenian Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Armenia, Andrea Barbara Baumann.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Finance, Hovhannisyan congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador on her assumption of office and emphasized the significant potential for expanding bilateral relations between Armenia and Switzerland.
The meeting focused on key areas of mutual interest, including participatory budgeting, development programs, as well as the need to align new development programs with the priorities of the Armenian government. In turn, the Ambassador emphasized the continuity of high-level mutual visits and political consultations, as well as Armenia's role as host of the 8th European Political Community Summit, scheduled to take place in May 2026, and the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) in October. In this context, the Swiss side reaffirmed its commitment to continuing and expanding cooperation within the framework of the new regional cooperation program for 2026-2029.
Minister Hovhannisyan provided a comprehensive overview of Armenia's current macroeconomic standing. He detailed the government's primary fiscal policy directions, recent industry developments, and future economic projections. The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming their readiness to explore new avenues for partnership in areas of shared economic and political interest.
