In January 2026, Armenia's state treasury tax collections (tax revenues and state duties) amounted to 251 billion drams, which is 18.1 billion drams or approximately 8% more than in January 2025. Eduard Hakobyan, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC), shared this information on social media.
During the reporting period, 25.2 billion drams were refunded to taxpayers, an increase of 4.6 billion drams, or 22.3%, compared to January 2025.
According to the approved state budget for 2026, state treasury revenues will grow to 3 trillion 91 billion drams (slightly more than $8 billion), and expenditures to 3 trillion 628 billion drams ($9.4 billion). Economic growth (GDP) is projected to be 5.4%, reaching 11 trillion 933 billion drams (approximately $31 billion). The state budget deficit will amount to 536 billion drams (just under $1.4 billion), or 4.5% of GDP. By the end of 2026, government debt will increase from 50.7% to 52.9% of GDP, amounting to approximately $16.5 billion.
Tax revenues are projected to reach 2 trillion 971 billion drams (approximately $7.7 billion), with the tax- to-GDP ratio expected to increase by 0.4%. Regarding expenditures, 2 trillion 924 billion drams ($7.6 billion) will be allocated for current expenses (salary payments, pensions, government procurement for healthcare, etc.). Additionally, 704 billion ($1.8 billion)will be designated for capital expenditures (construction of roads, schools, and other facilities). The share of GDP for these expendituares will decrease from 6.6% to 5.9%.
