Armenia`s industry records 4.7% growth in 2025 

ArmInfo. Armenia's industrial sector demonstrated growth of 4.7% in 2025 (the same as the previous year), reaching 3.3 trillion drams ($8.6 billion) in  January-December.

This is evidenced by data from the Statistical  Committee of the Republic of Armenia, according to which industrial  production volumes increased by 25% in December alone, reaching 517.5  billion drams ($1.3 billion), and year-on-year (compared to December  2024), growth amounted to 38.6%.

In particular, mining and open-pit mining reversed their momentum  from an 8.6% decline in 2024. The forecast for 2025 is for a 6.4%  increase, reaching 514.7 billion drams. In December, the mining  sector contracted by 3.7% to 51.2 billion drams.

The manufacturing industry's annual growth rate slowed from 6.5% to  3.3%, reaching 2.4 trillion drams. In December alone, manufacturing  production increased by 29.7% to 420.8 billion drams.

In the manufacturing industry, significant growth in 2025 was  recorded in the production of coke and refined petroleum products  (3.5 times), the chemical industry (73.3%), cigarette production  (38.9%), computers, electrical and optical equipment (33.4%),  machinery and equipment (31%), and furniture (26%). A significant  decline in production volumes for the reporting year was recorded  only in jewelry production - by 51.4%, electronic equipment - by  13.9%, and leather goods - by 17.9%.

In the manufacturing sector, the leading output volumes were food  products (771.3 billion drams), basic metals (551.4 billion drams),  cigarettes (297.3 billion drams), beverages (208.7 billion drams),  and other non-metallic mineral products (168.1 billion drams).

According to statistics, the supply of electricity, gas, steam, and  air conditioning slowed in year-on-year growth from 12.6% to 10.7%,  reaching 378.2 billion drams. In December alone, growth of 29.2% was  recorded, reaching 42.7 billion drams. Moreover, electricity  generation, transmission, and distribution increased by 11.8%  year-on-year, while gas production and distribution of gaseous fuels  through gas supply systems increased by 6.1%.

Revenues from water supply, waste treatment and processing, and  secondary raw materials slowed in growth from 5.8% to 2.7%, amounting  to 32.4 billion drams. In December, revenues increased by 1% to 2.6  billion drams. The maintenance of the year-on-year growth dynamics  was largely due to a 4.6% increase in wastewater collection and  treatment.

The average dram exchange rate in January-December 2025 was 387.01  drams per US dollar, and in December, 381.51 drams per US dollar.
