ArmInfo. All targets for intensive agriculture have been achieved, as stated by Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan during a press conference on February 6.
In particular, he emphasized that some targets have even increased exponentially.
According to Papoyan, with the launch of the program, the government set a goal of establishing 1,000 hectares of intensive orchards annually. Over four and a half years, 4,500 hectares of intensive orchards have been established. The area irrigated using modern technologies under the program was supposed to increase by 3,000 hectares between 2021 and 2026, but as of the end of December 2025, the area had grown to 7,000 hectares. Papoyan also noted the growth in greenhouse acreage. According to the program, the area was supposed to increase annually to 10 hectares, but over four and a half years, the area has reached 45 hectares. The minister also noted that several dozen more hectares will be developed this year.
It should be noted that, according to the RA Statistics Committee, Armenia's gross agricultural output grew by 5.6% in 2025, exceeding 1 trillion drams.
