
ArmInfo.Armenian Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan received a delegation led by Alexander Ferenc Timan, head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission to Armenia. IMF Deputy Managing Director Marnix van Rij also attended the meeting.
According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Finance, during the meeting, the parties discussed the new standby facility program in detail, implemented with the support of the IMF, and its key directions, emphasizing the importance of the program for ensuring macroeconomic stability and promoting structural reforms.
Progress in implementing the structural benchmarks outlined in the program was presented. The parties also talked about Armenia's fiscal framework, reforms in public finance management, existing challenges, and issues related to climate action financing.
The parties also discussed tax and budget policy priorities aimed at stimulating economic growth and strengthening fiscal stability. Concluding the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of joint efforts to enhance the efficiency of current programs and to continue advancing reforms.
