ArmInfo. Armenia plans to introduce a digital system for managing breeding farms and keeping records of breeding stock (PAS). Details of the new system were discussed at a meeting chaired by RA Deputy Minister of Economy Tatevik Sargsyan.
According to the Ministry of Economy's press service, the system is planned to be implemented jointly by the Ministry of Economy, the Armenian Genetic Livestock Association, and the CARD Foundation. It will enable individual recording of breeding animals, monitoring animal reproduction, milk production, and health based on international standards. It is also planned to automate the processes of breeding stock assessment (bonitization), certification, and reporting, creating an accurate database. The system will be based on Austrian experience, ensuring that the solutions used comply with the best international standards. The project aims to complete the national "Animal Numbering and Registration" program, funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and implemented by the CARD Foundation, by digitizing individual data on breeding animals. The implemented system aims to develop a modern, data-driven, and competitive livestock breeding system in Armenia.
Representatives of the Armenian Genetic Livestock Breeders Association, the National Association of Veterinarians of the Republic of Armenia, the CARD Foundation, the Austrian Development Agency, and the system development team participated in the meeting.
