ArmInfo. South Caucasus Railways (SCR) increased employee salaries effective April 1. Workers in blue-collar jobs at depots and various company facilities will receive a 15% increase. Salaries for administrative staff, excluding management, have also increased by 10%, although these changes are unaffected.
According to the company's press service, SCR employee salaries are continually reviewed based on the need to adjust for inflation. This mechanism is embedded in the Collective Agreement between the company's employees and the trade union.
The current agreement contains a number of provisions aimed at providing social support to the company's workforce: summer vacations for employees and their children, support for first-graders, free train travel, maternity assistance, and other social guarantees and obligations. Trade unions annually allocate approximately 250 million drams to address these issues.
Earlier this year, during meetings between company management and staff representatives, a decision was made to increase wages by a larger amount-10 to 15%-rather than the consumer price index, which allowed for a significant revision of employee salaries. The company will continue to operate under the Collective Agreement and in close collaboration with its staff.
