
ArmInfo.Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy Anushik Avetyan met with a delegation led by Zmarak Khan, Deputy Chief Counsel of the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) at the U.S. Department of Commerce, to discuss ways to expand cooperation between the two countries in intellectual property protection.
According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Economy, the meeting was held as part of the delegation's official visit to develop bilateral cooperation and discuss new programs. The parties noted that cooperation in intellectual property will play a key role in developing a competitive, innovative, and knowledge-intensive economy. In this regard, it was noted that the existing partnership contributes to improving the investment climate, implementing technology commercialization processes, and ensuring sustainable economic growth.
The Deputy Minister of Economy reported that the ministry is currently developing a "Strategic Program for the Development of Armenia's Intellectual Property Sector for 2026-2030," which includes comprehensive legal and institutional reforms in line with international standards.
Furthermore, the parties discussed further areas for strengthening cooperation, including through the implementation of programs to develop capacity, improve law enforcement practices, strengthen coordination between relevant bodies, and exchange international experience on a continuous basis.
