Ministry of Technology and Industry discusses issues of critical  infrastructure cyber resilience

ArmInfo.  At the initiative of the Ministry of Technology and Industry of Armenia, a discussion was held on improving the cybersecurity of critical information infrastructure, in particular the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA), and implementing comprehensive measures in this area.

According to the Ministry's press service, the meeting was chaired by  Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.

Emphasizing the importance of the topic under discussion, the  minister noted that state policy is aimed at consistently enhancing  the cyber resilience of critical infrastructure, which entails  conducting regular professional assessments, adopting comprehensive  measures, and implementing them systematically.

He noted that the energy sector is of key, vital importance and  covers a wide range of consumers.  "Considering the potential risks,  it was advisable to begin these processes with the Electric Networks  of Armenia, viewing them as a model for implementing cybersecurity  standards in other strategic sectors," Hayrapetyan noted.

In this context, Acting Governor of the Electric Networks of Armenia  Romanos Petrosyan noted the need to develop internal capabilities,  attract expert and technical support, and implement comprehensive  programs aimed at protecting the infrastructure. He emphasized that  the state must assume the role of coordinator and guarantor, ensuring  both system security and public trust.

During the discussion, participants emphasized the importance of  directly involving specialized government agencies in future  processes.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to  continue close cooperation, taking practical steps to strengthen the  resilience of the industry.

Following the discussions, an agreement was reached to hold regular  professional consultations.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the  meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister Ruben Simonyan, Director  of the Information Systems Agency of Armenia Nerses Yeritsyan, and  others.
