Georgian and Armenian railway officials discuss passenger  transportation plans

ArmInfo.  During negotiations in Yerevan, representatives of the South Caucasus Railway and Georgian Railway reached a number of agreements on mutual passenger  transportation.

In particular, as reported by the press service of SCR, a decision  was made to establish a high-speed, branded train service on the  Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan route during the 2026 summer season. The  parties approved a schedule for the train, departing every other day,  from June 14 to October 1, 2026. The railway operators also agreed to  promptly exchange passenger information to reduce train downtime at  border checkpoints.

Furthermore, the parties agreed to implement a Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan  tourist route commissioned by the Czech company Gepard Express from  July 4 to 12. The plan is to organize the transportation of a group  of tourists, primarily from the Czech Republic, with accommodations  on board SCR carriages and stops along the way to explore the sights  of Armenia and Georgia. SCR successfully launched the first such  route in 2025.
