RA Government approves list of international standards to be applied  in field of cybersecurity

ArmInfo.  At a meeting on May 14, the RA government approved a list of international standards to be applied in the field of cybersecurity.

As Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia  Gevork Mantashyan noted in his speech, in recent years, along with  the growing use of information and digital systems, the number of  cyber threats in the country has increased significantly. Last year,  following lengthy discussions, a package of laws aimed at addressing  this issue was adopted. Following the adoption of the package, the  need arose for the adoption of bylaws, one of which is the document  presented. The main goal of the project is to establish clear  international standards for critical information infrastructures,  cybersecurity service providers, and cybersecurity auditors operating  in the vital sector, with which the latter are required to comply.  The document includes a list of applicable international standards,  application guidelines, and the scope of application. The adoption of  the document is expected to introduce international cybersecurity  standards into the legal environment, as well as establish clear,  unified, and predictable rules for the activities of critical  information infrastructures, cybersecurity service providers, and  cybersecurity auditors working in the vital sector.
