Armenia dealing with arbitration challenges

 Armenia dealing with arbitration challenges

ArmInfo.  Armenia plans to allocate 7.5 million drams for the development of the arbitration sector. The decision was made at a government meeting on May 14.

The project's rationale notes that this initiative is intended to  promote arbitration as an effective, reliable, and best-in-class  international dispute resolution mechanism, while strengthening  institutional and professional capacity and raising public awareness  of the sector. The initiative will include public and professional  discussions on arbitration, bringing together representatives of  government agencies, the private sector, the legal community,  academia, and international experts to ensure a constructive dialogue  on current challenges in the sector, legislative changes, and  practical application issues.

A key component of the campaign will be the organization of an annual  Arbitration Week, which will serve as a leading platform for  exchanging experiences between international and local experts and  representatives from various sectors, identifying new partnerships,  and positioning Armenia as a regional arbitration hub. Targeted  trainings and seminars will also be held. The campaign, if necessary,  may also include public awareness-raising and communication  activities, as well as the development and dissemination of  information and methodological materials.

The Legislation Development Center, which will receive the grant  funds, will be responsible for all of these tasks.
