ArmInfo. At the invitation of Armenia's Food Safety Inspection Body, a delegation from the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) has arrived in the country. The delegation includes veterinary and phytosanitary specialists.
According to the press service of the Inspectorate, supervisory activities are scheduled over the next seven days at several Armenian enterprises—specifically eight plant-cultivation and four fish-farming facilities. The inspections aim to verify that products exported from Armenia to Russia comply with the requirements and standards of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) legislation.
The source noted that discussions regarding the inspection itinerary were held with the Russian partners under the leadership of Tigran Petrosyan, head of the Armenian regulatory agency. Alexey Shcheglov, head of the Russian delegation, conveyed greetings from Rosselkhoznadzor chief Sergey Dankvert, expressing gratitude to his Armenian colleagues for their swift response to the situation and their readiness to organize joint monitoring activities. Tigran Petrosyan assured that cooperation between the competent authorities of both countries will always remain constructive.
Notably, Rosselkhoznadzor issued a statement today announcing that, effective May 22, 2026, the federal service will introduce temporary restrictions on flower imports from Armenia. These restrictions will remain in place until the inspection of greenhouse facilities is finalized and the resulting data is analyzed. "Despite the guarantees provided by Armenia's Food Safety Inspection Body, interceptions of quarantine pests for the EAEU continue. Out of 96.2 million imported floral units, 135 violations were detected. This already accounts for 77% of the total violations identified throughout the entirety of 2025," the regulatory body stated.
