ArmInfo.Rospotrebnadzor has issued an additional order to the operator of the state labeling system, Honest Sign, to suspend the sale of 64.5 million units of Jermuk natural medicinal table mineral drinking carbonated water in the Russian Federation. This was reported by the supervisory authority's press service.
The order to block new batches is effective from May 28, 2026, until further notice. The order was based on the manufacturer's violations of mandatory technical regulation requirements. The water was found to contain excess levels of bicarbonate ions, chlorides, and sulfates.
This could lead to misconceptions about the medicinal properties and negatively impact health. Since the beginning of 2026, at the request of Rospotrebnadzor, the operator of the state labeling system "Honest Sign" has already blocked the sale of 38.4 million units of bottled water "Jermuk" in retail and online channels.
Previously, a ban was imposed on the import of fruits and vegetables from Armenia into the Russian Federation, as well as alcoholic beverages from a number of companies. Experts view such strict measures as a policy of cooling Armenian-Russian relations against the backdrop of intensifying ties between Armenia and the EU.
