
ArmInfo. Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan held a meeting with representatives of major greenhouse farms.
According to the Ministry of Economy press service, the participants discussed the current situation in greenhouse farm development, the main challenges, and potential solutions. The parties also touched upon the sector's development prospects, initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, and export diversification. In this regard, they reviewed possibilities for improving state support instruments provided to greenhouse business entities to overcome the challenges facing the industry. The Minister noted that, alongside the traditional markets, steps must be taken to ensure the presence of Armenian products on international markets. "The Government of the Republic of Armenia is already implementing numerous programs and stands ready to take additional steps to achieve our economic diversification goals," Papoyan said.
It should be noted that the total area of greenhouses in Armenia is 85 hectares. By 2026, the government plans to build greenhouse farms with a total area of 64 hectares under state assistance programs.
